Holly Ciocci. 23 anni. Fotografa. Esploratore. Futuro violinista. Qualcuno che sogna.

This blog was created while I was studying abroad in Florence, Italy, in the spring of 2013. I am a photography student, minoring in Italian, and the blog started as a means to share images of things I saw living in a foreign country, but has evolved into something more. Above all, the work I post is about self discovery. Sometimes I post my own work, and sometimes the work of others who both inspire and amaze me. "The Neverending Road" is my journey through life as a continuous process of metamorphosis.

Non importa chi sei, da dove vieni o quanti soldi hai in tasca. Tu hai il tuo destino e la tua vita davanti a te. Nessun vento è a favore se non sai dove girare le vele.

I need someone who
Sees the fire in my eyes and
wants to play with it.

Storydress II
"Storydress II is a series of photographs of a life-size paper mache and plaster sculpture. The dress is made of paper mache stories that I recorded of my great-grandmother’s autobiographical reminiscences. Each photograph contains legible words. The sculpture was photographed with the wet-plate collodion negative process, printed on handmade gold-toned Albumen paper, and burnished onto antique Cabinet Card mounts. For exhibition the cabinet card photographs are displayed using an antique wooden Graphoscope (magnifying device) and shelf."

Myth of Europa. Mini series I just completed for my Advanced Photo class. I just got my Kodak Folding Cartridge Hawkeye working and decided to shoot with it for this project. The camera is 80-90 years old and I wasn’t sure if it was going to work, but the images came out beautifully.

The myth of Europa is ancient Greek and is about a Phoenician princess seduced by Zeus in the form of a bull. She is raped and then abandoned.

Poi vai a letto. Mi piacciono i letti. Credo siano l’invenzione più grande dell’uomo. Quasi tutti siamo nati lì. Si muore lì. Si scopa lì. Ci si abbraccia lì e si sogna lì.
Charles Bucowski (via lyrem83)

Translation:
"Then go to bed. I like beds. I believe they are man’s best invention. We are all born there. You die there. You fuck there. We hug there and we dream there."
